Protection - The rules, polices and application
all have very sinister connotations, social services
use these rules to commit their most abundant abuses.
What
can you do and what can they do to you?

Child
Protection, A name that seems appropriate enough
and on paper a worthy cause... But, there is always
a but, it has become the main weapon for social
services to force compliance out of parent's who
otherwise would not obey the slightest thing asked.
Some
department's have pretty good child protection policies
but these are in the very small minority as bad
practice, underpaid and demoralized staff and huge
workloads have made the child protection issue an
ease to their burden. Social workers have found
it easy to cry "abuse" and everyone has
to dance to their tune and to a certain extent the
law support's this, however...
Child
Protection Conferences and Risk Registers
Secret
Courts wholly dominated by social services who have
the ultimate vote with a large block, although denied
the verdict is prearranged at the "professionals"
meeting prior to this, if it looks like you are
going to kick up a fuss, then social services will
increase their vote by including team managers,
legal staff and anyone else that can carry the vote
against you.
Anything
you say is totally disregarded if it does not agree
with their viewpoint, in this situation social services
has a very powerful advantage over you, they will
petition mercilessly members of the conference outside
of the meetings to ensure their reports are safe,
they will portray your views as secondary in all
instances even though you are the parent of your
child.
In
fact social services have a very sneaky catch-all
if you don't agree, they will say you are being:
- Obstructionist
- Are
unable to see potential dangers
- Will
not co-operate
- Are
mentally ill
- Not
putting the childs needs first
These
and more are given to the members if you don't conform,
this is a very poor attack on your person and very
effective in attaining sympathy from allied agencies
against you
Absent
members will have voted in their absence even though
they have not heard your side of things, presented
your evidence or tackled successfully matters within
the conference, as I said the members will have
made their mind up wholly on social services presentation
of "facts",
YOUR
VIEWS DO NOT MATTER,
I have in my possession a letter from a chairman
of a conference telling me that the meeting was
for the purpose of the professionals only, this
was in a challenge to his stating there were no
dissenting views which was utter rubbish.
This
was also backed up by a senior manager for Dorset
County Council, who claimed it had to be so lest
"sex offenders" gained control...!
Denial
of legal advice - Social services are allowed
and will invariably have a county solicitor there
giving them advice and assistance to gain a position
over YOU, on the other hand most departments will
allow an advocate or McKenzian friend to sit with
you BUT they are not allowed to interfere or they
are ejected. This is an imbalance of law and a case
of prejudicial advantage where you have no chance
sitting there with a gagged solicitor and twelve
people railing into you.
The
County Solicitor is actually supposed to be available
to all present including the parents
HE
WILL INVARIABLY REFUSE TO HELP PARENTS EVEN IF THEY
ARE IN THE RIGHT
Evidence
- Social services can and will present pure opinion
as factual evidence, if the social worker says at
the conference "I think this child is being
abused" the other agencies have to take it
as read that this is the case whether or not there
is one ounce of evidence to back this up, this leaves
parents like myself open to incompetent or malicious
social workers who in my case have used the conference
and register as a weapon of revenge and blackmail.

- It matter's not if your child is blemish free,
happy enough with no evident problems, if they so
wish it your child is at "risk", referring
to the JGR on Dorset County Council as a prime example,
the review panel discussed the instance of a young
teenage couple whose baby was placed on the register,
when asked why, the couple were unaware of the reasons
but tried frantically to comply with their requests,
upon further investigation it also became apparent
that no-one at DCC knew the reason why the child
was registered but it was strongly felt that the
child "should" be registered and evident
abuse of the system was seen in force.
Compliance
- It seems that certain department's use the register
and conferences as a form of blackmail, if you don't
do as we say, we tell the court you are uncooperative,
if you don't do this then we will take your child
away. I have had this personally and will accept
any legal challenge on this too, yet we mustn't
forget that social services will always deem themselves
"right" in the face of unbreakable evidence,
they will try and force you to see black instead
of white if that is what they want you to see.
Appeal's
- To be honest, it is a waste of time but has to
be done if you don't agree, I was promised an independent
tribunal, the tribunal consisted of a senior policeman
who seemed extremely sympathetic and two senior
council managers (one of social services). Not very
independent and I imagine the police officer was
shouted down at every turn. Beware appeals as they
are a form of complaint and therefore able to be
dragged, manipulated and treated like anything else
they do, please see my section on complaining
against social services and bear in mind that
they will RETALLIATE!
Finally,
the child protection conference is supposed to be
independently supervised, that is also a pile of
ordure as the chairperson is a,
- Invariably
a social worker
- Employed
by social services
- Instructed
by social services.
The government must look into changing the registration
conferences into something akin to the Mental Health
Tribunal where someone independent is there to interpret
the legal side for the supplicant, there are independent
lay-people in attendance and that if disputed a
further review is held within a few weeks rather
than six months later.
There
are no safeguards in the Child protection system,
there is no law governing the departments nor any
assistance available to the people it affects, it
is akin to the drumhead court martial's in Hitler's
Germany, literally interpreted as "we say what
you are-then you are what we say"
